101 Zen Stories

101 Zen Stories is a collection of short, allegorical tales that offer insights into the teachings of Zen Buddhism. The book was compiled by Nyogen Senzaki, a Japanese Zen master who brought Zen to the United States in the early 20th century. Each story is designed to provoke thought and reflection on the nature of reality, the human condition, and the path to enlightenment. The tales are often humorous, paradoxical, and enigmatic, challenging readers to look beyond the surface level of meaning and contemplate the deeper truths that lie beneath. The stories cover a wide range of topics, including morality, ethics, spirituality, and the nature of existence itself. Some of the tales are based on traditional Zen stories, while others are original creations by Senzaki. The book has been widely read and enjoyed by people of all backgrounds and spiritual traditions, and is considered a classic of Zen literature. This is a new release of the original 1940 edition. This scarce antiquarian book
