A Christmas Story (1983) Directed by Bob Clark, A Christmas Story follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker as he becomes determined to receive a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas despite repeated warnings from the adults around him. Set in 1940s Indiana, the film turns Ralphies school days, family life and increasingly elaborate attempts to secure his dream present into a nostalgic Christmas comedy. Based on the writings of Jean Shepherd, the film stars Peter Billingsley, Darren McGavin and Melinda Dillon. A Christmas Story 2 (2012) Directed by Brian Levant, A Christmas Story 2 continues Ralphie Parkers story several years after the original film. Now a teenager, Ralphie becomes obsessed with getting a 1939 Mercury convertible for Christmas, but after accidentally damaging the car he and his friends must find jobs and earn enough money to pay for the repairs before Christmas Eve. Braeden Lemasters stars as Ralphie, with Daniel Stern as the Old Man in this family Christmas comedy.
