Curse of Lono

The fully illustrated Gonzo classic from Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman, The Curse of Lono blends satire, myth, and immersive reportage into a cult counterculture masterpiecenewly introduced by actress and director, Natasha Lyonne. Tasked with covering Hawaiis largest annual running event, the Honolulu Marathon, Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman quickly abandon conventional sports reporting. What begins as race coverage erupts into an odyssey of excess and an obssession with Lono, the Hawaiian god of rain and fertility. As Thompsons reportage fractures into the surreal, Steadmans illustrations intensify their descent, transforming their time on the islands into a hallucinatory exploration of Hawaiian myth and dark Americana. The result is The Curse of Lono, a Gonzo classic of immersive journalism and illustrated nonfiction.
