Dockside

Wren Halloway bought the Cedar Falls Marina to prove she never needed anyone else's judgment again - and spent her whole first season treating her most experienced guide like a threat instead of an asset. Levi Marsh has fished this lake every summer for eleven years and left every single October, ever since the water took his father and left him too afraid to let anything here become permanent. A summer storm forces them into a real partnership neither expected, and what starts as reluctant trust becomes something neither of them planned on keeping. But Levi's got a job offer waiting somewhere warmer, and this time, staying means both of them have to choose differently than they ever have before. Dockside is a warm, summer-set small-town romance - no cheating, no cliffhanger, guaranteed happy ending. A short, sweet read of about 6,100 words (roughly 25 minutes).
