Healing at Russell Creek

Mara Ellison came to Russell Creek for one job: evaluate Atlas, a performance Quarter Horse who turned fiercely defensive after a highway trailer wreck. She did not come for Cole Russell-the commanding Colorado cattleman who owns the ranch, carries unspoken guilt, and wants results on his own timeline. Mara draws a hard line. No force. No shortcuts. Choice-based rehab, even if it means turning an eighty-foot barn aisle into Atlas's world.Patience works. Presence returns. And working side by side through long mornings and longer evenings, professional respect ignites into a slow-burning attraction neither of them planned to feel. Then pain, not only trauma, explains Atlas's fight. An emergency client horse pulls Mara back to Wyoming. Distance, independence, and the fear of needing someone else threaten everything they've started.Healing at Russell Creek is a western romance about consent-horse and human-age-gap heat, ranch life, and two guarded people who learn that partnership does not have to mean surrender.
