Hiding in Plain White

Newcastle 1972Charlie's biggest problem that night was supposed to be finding somewhere warm to sleep. Instead, he witnesses a professional execution. A glamorous woman. A silenced gun. One dead gangster in a Mercedes. Not the sort of thing you expect to see after finishing your last can of Newcastle Brown. Still, it would be rude not to relieve the late hoodlum of his wallet. Wouldn't it?Meanwhile, outwardly respectable accountant George Brown is discovering that money laundering for the local crime overlord is easier to get into than get out of. However, it does come with perks: brown envelopes, expensive restaurants... and the occasional murder charge. As the police close in offering deals, threats and dodgy vocabulary, George's wife Joyce counters with tea and Jammie Dodgers. George must decide whether to stay loyal or save his own skin. Maybe becoming the North East's least convincing criminal mastermind wasn't his greatest career move?Sharp, witty and deliciously tense, in Hiding in Plain White it seems that everyone is hiding something. Some are just better dressed when they do it!
