House Call

Dr. Callie Winters has run Cedar Falls' only veterinary clinic for eleven years on nothing but her own two hands and sheer stubbornness. A badly broken wrist just took the hands part off the table for six weeks - and put a relief vet in her clinic instead.Dr. Marcus Bellweather has covered forty-one postings in nine years of ambulatory large-animal work, and has gotten very good at leaving before anything gets the chance to matter. Neither of them planned on this - a working partnership neither wants to admit they need, and two people who've spent years mistaking self-sufficiency for safety finally asked to consider what it might cost them not to let anyone in.The House Call is a sweet, grounded workplace romance - no cheating, no cliffhanger, guaranteed happy ending.
