As it happens, he then becomes the admiral of the alien cruiser New Dawn and the only hope of the Galactic Alliance. Out of the darkness of space, a new and unknown race emerges. They are an organic nightmare that uses no machines, but grows its weapons and ships from the flesh and bone of conquered worlds. To them, humanity is not a partner, but raw material.
