A photograph of two boys draws him deeper into a past stretching from Crete to Izmir-a past marked by a father who never returned, hunger, separation, and a child's struggle to survive. But uncovering his grandfather's story means confronting more than a secret. With every page, Deniz begins to hear what his family has left unsaid: the hurt beneath his mother's words, the fear behind his grandfather's silence, and the questions he himself has avoided. How well can we know the people we love if we never ask what it cost them to become who they are?Tender and unsettling, PAPER CUT explores the fragile bonds between memory and identity, love and concealment. It invites you into one family's hidden history-and leaves you thinking about the stories your own family may never have told.A child's name can disappear. The life behind it cannot.PAPER CUTYasin Güneş
