Showing Mercy: Exploring Queer Exclusion in Latin American Churches

This research was conducted with the objective of examining the justifications employed by Latin American churches for the exclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community. The study involved interviews with individuals from the Latin American queer community eager to recount their experiences and the hardships inflicted upon them by Christian churches. Furthermore, a contextual interpretation was done to examine the parcializado (bias) passages that have been employed in opposition to the queer community. In conclusion, the research outcomes of the study and its recommendations were established to encourage a fresh reading and liberating interpretations of the parcializado passages.
