Sound That Lingers After the Snow

The Sound That Lingers After the SnowEighteen years ago, a winter mountain accident left behind a dead student, a severed rope, and questions that no report could fully contain.Yoon Gahyeon has spent those years at the foot of Seolbisan, caring for an old rural school that has become a small clinic and mountain lodge. She keeps the radio on through the snow, though she rarely turns the dial far enough to hear the voices clearly. Some sounds are easier to live with when they remain buried beneath static. Then Jang Taeho, a former teacher who was involved in the accident report, arrives with Lee Seoyun, the younger sister of the student who died. Seoyun has returned to the mountain carrying an old diary and a question that has waited eighteen years to be spoken aloud. As another heavy snowfall closes the trails, the past begins to echo through the present. A mountain path must be walked once more. A name that disappeared into a report must be remembered. And those who have carried the weight of one winter must decide how long they can keep standing still.Quiet, atmospheric, and deeply human, The Sound That Lingers After the Snow is a story about memory, guilt, survival, and the fragile ways people learn to live with what cannot be changed. Some snow melts. Some sounds remain.
