Working Memory

Working Memory provides a comprehensive examination of the neural basis of working memory, defined as the cognitive ability to maintain information over short periods. This volume addresses the need for an accessible, yet thorough resource that bridges cognitive psychology and neuroscience, focusing on how neuronal activity in the cerebral cortex underpins memory processes. It is primarily designed for undergraduate and early graduate students in neuroscience, psychology, and related fields such as cognitive science and biomedical engineering. Topics covered include brain anatomy, organization, neurophysiology, and neuroimaging techniques, all contextualized within the study of working memory.Explains working memory through neural activity and brain physiologyReviews brain anatomy and organization for diverse student backgroundsHighlights research from diverse scientists to promote inclusionIntegrates neuroimaging and neurophysiology principles with cognitive psychology
