Written on a Napkin

Her life runs like clockwork, a steady marriage, a bright twelve-year-old daughter, a reputation for never letting anyone down. No one has ever had reason to worry about her. Then, on a wet night, she sits in her own driveway, unable to walk through her own front door.By morning, three lines are written on a napkin in a café by the park. Three lines she has no intention of showing anyone. Three lines that will not stay hidden.Something has shifted, and the people closest to Emily feel it before she can explain it. Her mother grows cold. Her sister arrives at the door with a suitcase and no explanation. Her husband begins to watch her across the dinner table like a stranger he thought he knew. Every quiet year has a cost, and someone is about to collect. Some families are built on what is never said. Written on a Napkin is a novel about the silence that holds a household together, and what happens the moment one woman refuses to keep it.Some truths wait a lifetime. This one waited for a napkin.
